The story, Heidi, written by Johanna Spyri, talks about a child, named Heidi, who went to her mountain home for the first time, and needs the mountain air there. When she was small, she lived with her aunt, Dete. When she was about five years old, she moved to the Alm mountains, and lived with her grandfather. There, she was very happy and got used to the mountain air. One day, Dete came and took Heidi to Frankfurt, where she wasn’t used to anything there. A doctor then discovered that Heidi didn’t sleep well and sleep walked every night, in hope of going back home. She was then sent back home, to the mountains where she again blossomed. From this story, we can learn many things.
Love for a person or thing is always there, and if we leave it we might feel unhappy. People love things just as if the things are their most precious possessions, and they are always very very careful with their possessions, careful not to harm or break the things. Sometimes people don’t even think about it, but their minds just simply love the thing. In the story, Heidi loves the mountain and she feels unhappy when she moves just as she had her arms and legs cut off. She also slept so badly that she sleepwalked, and when she went back to her mountain home, she felt happy again. That is just like a little chicken that is reunited with its parents. Cherishing something affects a person, also making them happy.
People are always affected by the area and the people surrounding them. If there is a very bad school, with lots of naughty children, and there is a good student, the good student is likely to turn into a bad student. If there is a very good school with lots of kind and wise children, and there is a bad student, the bad student is likely to turn into a good student. Grandfather was always bad-tempered until Heidi came and then, Grandfather turned into a good man, with kind manners. He even went to church, which he hated a lot before. Grandfather was affected by Heidi, and Grandfather learned to care for Heidi, also guard his bad tempers. Surrounding things really affect people, as surrounding people do.
Friendship is very important in life, as it brings people together. Friendship helps people work together, and be kind. Friendship also leads to peace, and no fighting if people want to be nice to each other and to be happy without wars. Friendship can also make people happy, as friends, and always knowing that there will always be our friends to sympathize with us, and cheer us on. In the story, Heidi has friendship with Clara, and they soon help each other a lot, and are very close with each other, as no one in the family can always be there the sympathize with them. Friendship has been closing the gap which went between Heidi and Frankfurt. Friendship can blossom, with friends always being happy together.
In conclusion, the story of Heidi talks about a little girl named Heidi, and how she grows up when she has many turning points in her childhood. She comes from a mountain home, and hopes to always grow up inside it. But a turning point, when Dete, her aunt sends for her to live in the city, Heidi’s dream of staying in the mountain forever and ever, is shattered into pieces. But soon, she finds out that things can give way, and lead to the original life she hoped for. We also learn many things. First, love is immortal, and people can treat things like its twin. Second, people can always be affected by their surroundings, people and place. Third, friendship equals peace. I recommend you this book, Heidi.
