The story Freckle Juice is written by Judy Blume. It talks about a boy named Andrew who wanted freckles. Nicky, his classmate, had freckles and Andrew loved counting them. Sharon, their classmate, knew and told Andrew she had a secret recipe for freckles called ‘freckle juice’. The recipe was fifty cents. The next day, Andrew gave her fifty cents and got the recipe. After he drank it he got sick. When Andrew went to school, he used a blue marker to draw freckle dots but everyone laughed, so he removed the freckles he drew. In the end, Sharon started tricking other people again.
Good teachers help their students, have sympathy, and know what they want to do. Miss Kelly is one of the good teachers. When Andrew gave the recipe to her, she wondered if the paper was important to Andrew. Andrew also thought Miss Kelly was a good teacher. Good teachers are good models for us, they have good tempers, play funny games and always have good quizzes for us.
It is bad to trick people for money. Sharon tricked Andrew’s allowance for five weeks and made him sick. She wanted to trick Nicky 50 cents to make him sick too. If we trick other people’s money we may go to jail. Sharon is a bad example. She knew Andrew wanted freckles but tricked him with a secret recipe. If we think others are tricking us, we should never change things with them.
I accept who I am because Andrew didn’t accept who he was and lost his allowance for five weeks. He also got sick. If he accepted himself he wouldn’t have to be sick and lose 50 cents. He also should have asked Nicky if he felt good with freckles. Andrew asked Nicky how he got freckles and he knew that Nicky was born with freckles. You will never have them after birth but Andrew still wanted them which was a bad choice.
In conclusion, Sharon might go to jail after she grows up because she tricked Andrew. Andrew believed her because she had freckles. But when she tried to trick Nicky she had no freckles. Andrew was also not really good because he didn’t obey his mother’s rules. He used the kitchen and got tricked. He didn’t pay attention when having class. In the end, Miss Kelly is a good teacher because she helped her students when needed. This is a good story.
