Book Review of Brothers In Arms

The book “Brothers In Arms” by Julia Reeves is about the story of a middle-schooler named Finn who escapes with his brother, Adam, from androids. The story starts off with Finn who often gets into trouble. After he goes on a midnight adventure with his best friend Ellie, Ellie begins to suspect something. The next day at school, Ellie was about to tell Finn about her discovery when she was taken away and Finn got in trouble again. That night, his brother Adam told Finn that Ellie found out, about all the kids being in an experiment, and all the teachers and adults were android, which are robots who are made to look like humans, but without emotions. Immediately after hearing that, Adam takes Finn, and the escape together. They go deep into the woods, and even hid under the water once. But, while in a fight against some androids, Adam died, but luckily Finn was taken to protection at a hospital where Ellie is also there. That’s when the entire truth of the experiment and intention was explained.

Humanity is all about the interaction with people and improvements in the society, where technology can have major impacts on humans, sometimes in both positive and negative ways. In some cases, Technology can have some major impacts on humanity, especially the new and improved robots. In the book, some characters, like Finn and Ellie, are humans, while others such as Adam and the adults, are andriods instead. If everyone is an android, everyone will be stronger, more intelligent, and have a longer life. But, androids don’t show emotions, and everyone would be very cold. Although humans are inferior compared to androids in many aspects, they still lack emotions. Although Adam is an android, he still had emotions towards Finn. Although androids can have many different advantages over humans, like being smarter, stronger, quicker, etc., they lack the emotions that humans have, and therefore they are always very cold without any feelings, not towards themselves or others, so they are always expressing the same thing. Humanity can get great impacts from technology and it is up to humans and their interactions, especially different personalities and feelings, to cause change.

Co-existance is not a natural ability or a simple condition, rather it is actually a much bigger deal, especially when it comes to the society. It takes a lot of steps and requirements in order to have co-existance, since humans aren’t the only things that dominate and influence the world right now. In the book, humans and robots cannot co-exist because of the huge difference between them. Some androids like Adam are very strong, and they have lots of evergy, and thye never seem to get tired no matter how mugh they run or exercise. Meanwhile, others, like Finn, who are actual humans, can’t run that far and fast. Also, when Finn was trying to climb the walls to find Ellie, Miss Edwards was able to find him quickly, like they can sense where he is. The advantage of having humans eo-existing with robots or androids may include the fact that they can help each other out and support each other, if possible and without any troubles. The disadvantage is that the highly advanced technology in the androids might threaten humans, since relationships might not be the most secure and they are two totally different objects. Co-existance is not a process that is easily achieved, where it takes many individuals to be accomplished, especially between certain objects.

Endangerment is usually the result of one being jeopardized because of relationship issues, and it can between anyone. When one is endangered, they are forced to take action since the event that is happening is not what they are generally used to. In the book, the rise of the androids caused a lot of problems, including jeopardizing the life of humans. When Finn realized that the androids are after them, he knew what to do, as escaping is the only way of survival. Although they killed most of the humans and the rest are taken for an experiment, they still had a thinking brain, and they can still escape if they knew it. The reason Finn and Ellie decided to escape was simply because they fear that androids are going to take over the world, so that was their only hope. Jeopardization of humans, especially when it comes to robots, can be complicated. When one is trying to outrun or outsmart an android, they can’t do so because they are inferior in those aspects. So, when that happens, it would be very difficult in order to escape. Still, it can be possible when there is no other choice, like the condition of Finn and Ellie. Endangerment and jeopardization can force one to take action even though they might be inferior or aren’t able to adjust to the situation.

Humanity, co-existance, and endangerment are all important aspects of the book “ Brother In Arms”. Humanity can have positive and negative impacts by technology, where it can change hor people interact or think. In the book, if everyone was an android, they they would be smarter and stronger. But, androids don’t show emotions, making them very cold. Some like Adam, who although are androids, they still think like humans and have emotions, where he had feelings for Finn. Co-existance is not a simple occurrence, but rather it is a complicated series of agreements or disagreements. The positive aspect of humans and androids together is that they can help each other, but the highly advanced technology in the androids might pose a threat towards humans. Endangerment is also a factor when it comes to forcing one to take action. When Finn realized that the androids were after them and that they are starting to dominate the world, he and Adam decided to run and escape, although androids are able to track them down and kill them, but it was their only choice.
