The book “Christmas Carol” is written by Charles Dicken, it talks about Scrooge’s adventure with three ghosts of the past, present, and the yet to come, or future. Scrooge's adventure starts off with him doing his regular things, but today is Christmas Eve, so his clerk wants to take the day off for the next day. Scrooge unhappily agrees and goes home, but he is met with something unpleasant waiting for him. Once he got home he saw something was off, but thought he was imagining it, then once he sat down he saw his old fellow mate that had died 7 years ago, Marley. Marley had told Scrooge that he must change or else things would not go his way ever again, so Marley gives him a chance with a trial with three different ghosts, of the past, present, and the future. The ghost of the past showed him his past, and innocent life. It also showed him when he was rejected by his fiancée, because she had thought that the love of money from him was more than the love of her. The ghost of the present had shown him the feast that everyone is having, and how the markets are full, he was also shown his clerk's family boy dying from illnesses. The Ghosts of the yet to come or future, brings him to his death, where people do not respect him, and do not care about his death. This makes him change his mind and change, he gives money out to the poor, gives his clerk a raise and even goes to his highly despised cousin that he rejected dinner.
When we are mean like being a bully, we sometimes might want to change it, and the people will maybe forgive you and you will be all okay, this happened with scrooge. The first of these transformations was when he was young, nice and warm hearted, this is because he was not alone, even though he was bullied he had his teacher, and he had his little sister. But as he grew older his sister died, and his fiancé had rejected him seeing his love for money was growing bigger, so he grew lonely and cold-hearted. But when he was in his trials the first ghosts had brought him back to his good old time. The ghost of the present had made him realize what he had done wrong from there. The ghost of the future had given him an idea that things would look like when he was dead so he noticed that he was not really needed. This changes him from an old grumpy man, to a nice warm-hearted man.
Finding kindness is hard, because it is difficult if we have been bad, but the past, present, and future can help you with these things, just like how it helped Scrooge. Scrooge had not been kind in the beginning, he was mean and cold hearted. He first had despised his clerk wanting to take the day off the next day, and had also, even though he had enough money, would not give money to help the poor. He also rejected his cousin Fred, even though he was invited to go to their dinner, and have a good family time. Scrooge was also filled with greed at the time for money, but it made him worse not better, because then his finacée broke up with him. At the end, when Scrooge had found kindness, he had done many things more differently, like he gave a raise to his clerk, he had also made donations to help the poor. He had also accepted his cousin Fred to go to his dinner with kindness. This is how Scrooge found kindness, and how he was once a bad man, but turned into a good man.
Redemption is when we are given another chance in something, like how Scrooge was given another chance by the people. Scrooge's redemption was made by the change he had made, he had made these changes not by himself, but with ghosts of the past, present, and future. But not only did he do it with them he did it with love from others that they showed us, like his uncle Fred, who even though was rejected by him still loved him. Even the Cratchit family with their help had kindness towards him, and gave him good gifts that helped him with his kindness. The symbol of Christmas spirit had also awakened in Scrooge's heart, from the love, forgiveness, and kindness he had gotten from the people. Scrooge’s change came with redemption, from the people’s forgiveness.
The story “Christmas Carol” talks about Scrooge’s adventure with three ghosts. These three ghosts are the ghosts of the past, present, and future, while in these adventures he had changed slowly from being bad and grumpy into a kindhearted person. Scrooge had transformed, into a innocent little child into a great bad man, over the past years, because of his loneliness over time. But during the time he was with the three ghosts they had changed him to a nice person again, showing him that he is not lonely, and that he still had friends he had not noticed. Kindness to Scrooge had not come easy to him, because ever since he was little, he was made fun of by people. But as he got older, people cared about him too, like Fred who invited him with kindness to his dinner. Scrooge had found redemption, not only from his transformation, but because the people accepted him, of his new transformation. The book “Christmas Carol” is a great book that talks about a significant change of emotion by Scrooge, but ends up being a nice good man.
