Loneliness that your love is not around you, or you kinda feel homesick. In the story “Sarah, Plain and Tall”, Anna and Caleb lost their mother, while Jacob, their father, lost his wife. So he put out an ad in the newspaper looking for a new wife. And later, a woman called Sarah applied, and Anna and Caleb were nervous and excited at the same time to meet her. And when she arrived at the barn. Caleb and Anna liked her, and their father, Jacob, teached her many things, and she stayed there.
In the story, Sarah is lonely, because she is away from her hometown, Maine, and she feels homesick, because there’s no ocean or beach near the farm, but there is one near her house in Maine. And she doesn’t have any family members here on the farm, so she is pretty lonely, it probably is also because she isn’t used to farm life on the farm in the setting. And, she could also be lonely because she is unknown to Caleb, Jacob and Anna, but she is different from Jacob, Caleb, and Anna, she didn’t loss any of her family members, so her loneliness is different from them.
In the story, Papa (Jacob) is lonely, because he lost his wife, which is Anna and Caleb’s mother, and he probably feels lonely without his wife and adult family member nearby. He also is lonely because he doesn’t sing anymore like before with his wife, it could probably be because he misses her very much, so he doesn’t want to sing to remember her loss, and I think his lose couldn’t be replaced just with a new wife, he memorizes her very much, it’s not something easy to forget about, it’s about the loss.
The children in the story, Anna and Caleb are lonely because they lost their mother. Anna lost her mother when Caleb was born, and didn’t even say goodnight to her that night. Caleb however, didn’t experience having a mother, because his mother passed away while giving birth to her, unlike Jacob and Sarah’s loneliness, the kids’ loneliness is losing their own mother, which can’t really be replaced even by finding a new mother. Anna probably spent a lot of time with her mother, and it’s not something a new mother can replace. Caleb never experienced having a mother, so maybe he can change back to a normal person.
In conclusion, if you want to change from loneliness to a normal person, something that can keep you company and let your life feel filled, for example, a cat, a dog, a bird, etc. Or, you can also go to a public place with many people to reduce your loneliness, for example, the park, a mall, the beach, the playground, or any theme park, for example, Universal Studios and Disney. And losing a family member is something that you never can’t replace, you can’t just find a replacement and forget it, it’s the memories and the time together that you memorize.
