About Loneliness and Trustfulness

Loneliness and Trustfulness are important values to fulfill your life decisions. Loneliness means that attitude or feeling that there is no one near you to make you feel better, and trustfulness is the act of giving complete trust to somebody. These two values show you the effect of being lonely and the importance of trustfulness to one another. During the process and time when you are lonely, your loneliness can establish trust in others. There are three stories that prove these two themes; Shells, Island of Blue Dolphins, and Dragonwings. Shell talks about an adolescent boy named Michael and his Aunt in law, Aunt Esther. They have bad feelings for each other at first because they are both lonely before Aunt Esther adopted Michael. Michael’s parents had passed away, and Aunt Esther was a dowager. And so, she adopted Michael and they were not lonely. However, their relationship was not great. When Michael brought home a hermit crab, everything changed and they started to be more trustful to each other. The Island of Blue Dolphins talks about a young woman named Karana who is abandoned on an Island. Her father and brother had been killed by wild dogs, and her hatred grew on them as she planned for revenge. When she meets a wounded wild dog, she ponders on the decision to kill or treat his wounds. Surprisingly, she chose to treat him. Slowly, the wild dog/Rontu trusted Karana more, and so did she. Dragonwings talks about a boy named Moon Shadow who had to experience the loss of his father when he left for the U.S at the age of 7. He waited, as that is the only thing he could do, but thought of his father’s kites. When he got them, he changed from being lonely to waiting to trust his father would come back. All 3 stories show the importance of establishing trust in others when you're at your loneliest time.

These three stories symbolise that everyone could be lonely, no matter what age, living condition, or family background. No one can be accompanied by someone all the time, and it doesn’t matter if they are a 7-year-old little boy or a senior-aged woman. Moon Shadow lost his father to the U.S when he waS a young little boy, and Aunt Esther lost her own family when she was about 60 years old. Age doesn't matter, everyone can be lonely. If one is living in a royal apartment, he can still be lonely. If they live in a broken-down tiny shack, they may still be lonely too. Karana lives in a cave on an island all by herself, and she is lonely. If one’s family background is happy and warm, it doesn’t mean it will stay like that, sometimes the most wonderful times of their life can change into the complete opposite. If their family background is far apart and lonely, one’s life may be lonely too. Nothing can change the fact that one’s life may be lonely, so we must face it and find a solution. Solutions are not everywhere, so in order to face not being lonely we need to try and find it, and try hard to do so. Family background, conditions of living, or age does not affect the fact that you may be lonely anytime and anywhere. Loneliness affects life, no matter what situation you are in so we should change our attitude.

When something is not going well, we should find a resolution and change our attitude towards it to solve the problem. However, it is not possible to not do anything to achieve the solution. We need to be willing to try and achieve the solution by working hard and making the best of your situation. We should control our behaviour and also try not to be uncontrollable with our mood and emotions. These two actions are very common to notice when one is lonely, and so we must control it and find a resolution for it instead. The three stories show the importance of willilngness and behaviour. Shell shows that when Michael brought home the Hermit crab, it is he and Aunt Esther’s willingness to forgive nd trust eachtoher’s desire to finally achieve what they want. They angled their behaviour so taht they will be nice and loving to eachother and finally gained trust. In the Island of Blue Dolphins, Karana’s attitude and willingness to help Rontu gave her a loyal companion and also trust from Rontu to her and from her to Rontu. In Dragonwings, the story showed us the importance of willingness and Moon Shadow’s behaviour when he is willing to forgive and wait for his father to come back. His behaviour shows his willingness to do so, and it is very heartwarming to see. Attitude or behaviour can lead to the willingness of you trusting and forgiving people.

These three stories have many writing styles that can show us the deeper meaning of trust and willingness. These writing styles include symbolisms and also the functions of it. These two skills can improve the emotion and meaning of the story adn also increase the suspense and make it more clear for readers to know. In Shells, the story shows symbolism of the hermit crab and Aunt Esther. The hermit crab was symbolsing alone time, trust, and also forgiveness. In the story The Island of Blue Dolphins, the wild dog Rotnu was symbolising trust, loalness and forgiveness. In the story of Dragonwings, the symbolism was the kite that Moon Shadow’s father had made. He was an expert in making kites, so Moon Shadow decided to keep it as a memory. The kite symbolises reunion, home, and most importantly, desire. These three stories can all symbolise it is important to forgive and trust others in order to build the symoblisms of your life. The authors of these stories use symbolisms to prove that miracles may happen one day, and we must work hard to get it. However, miracles soemtimes come by without you having to think or notice, and you never do until everything and everyone changes around you because of the thing you never noticed. Symbolisms are a important way to show the reason humans are needing of a companion.

Every human will be lonely, and trust can benefit this problem. There is a question is this statement that is well hidden; which is the reason we are being left alone. We all know that trustfulness can support one when they are lonely. But what we need to look at is the cause of being lonely. Each people have different answers, for example losing someone you love to something else or having to choose wisely between two people you love. However, these situations all have one root to why tehy are lonely, which is because of loss or being unsolicited. Being friendless or without someone to be with you is very painful and humans sometimes cannot stand it and their behaviour will change. Changes may happen when theya re in depression about bad things that happened in one’s life and they amy struggle to overocme their grieve. But when someone comes to comfort or encourage them, no matter human or animal, talk or not, it can be proved that most humans will cheer up and increase their mood. The hermit crab comforted Michael, Rontu comforted Karana, and the kite comforted Moon Shadow. These examples show that humans are sensitive creatures theyd o not like to be independent, and anything that symbolises trustfulness can help encourage them out of being lonely.
