About Female Education

In the world that we live in right now, there are many women and girls who lack the access to quality education. Unlike many boys, many are treated less equally and are believed to not be as capable as others. Those stereotypes about women and girls can cause great impacts on their lives. Having been treated unequally from very early on, it can also affect their education, like receiving the right to go to school to learn. Educating women can have many benefits, including earning a higher income, have access to good healthcare, and be safer and be better protected against abuse. They might even produce healthier children, benefiting future generations.

Education and knowledge should be accessible to everyone around the globe. It helps people to have basic knowledge about things necessary for them to know, like decision making skills, having self awareness, and other skills like being literate and being able to communicate. Everyone develops those skills in school through education and knowledge, so if someone doesn’t have the skills they need, life will be very hard for them. They won’t know how to speak a certain language, they can‘t read, so they won’t be able to go to work and find a place to live. It can cause a chain reaction of things caused by each after due to the lack of education and knowledge. According to Our World In Data, around 58.4 million kids in primary school (ages 5-12) don’t get to go to school, out of the 787 million kids in the world. Compared to around 25 million boys who don't go to school, there are more than 30 million girls who don’t have the opportunity to go to school. Proper education and knowledge should be available to everyone, both kids and adults.

Honor and courage are both traits that can strongly represent someone. Someone might be honored for something they did, while they might have had a hard time doing so, and were required to have courage in order to succeed. According to Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani Women’s Education rights activist, “I have already seen death and I know that death is supporting me in my cause of education. Death does not want to kill me.” She says. It reveals that she has a lot of courage and that she is unafraid of death. She also mentioned “Before this attack, I might have been a little bit afraid how death would be. Now I’m not, because I have experienced it.” She also tells how she has grown in being mentally stronger and having more courage than before after the attack. She was also honored later on, and now everyone is shocked how she survived. “I think Malala is an average girl, but there is something extraordinary about her.” She caught everyone’s attention, including her father, that made them believe Malala is very courageous and tough. Courage can build up over time, while honor can be reached if one is mentally strong and has courage and resilience.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back after failures, and success is all about achieving the goal. Being resilient is somewhat similar to perseverance. When one is knocked down by an obstacle, they don’t accept defeat, but rather they adjust quickly and keep going instead of giving up. People with resilience are also able to believe in oneself and learn to be more solution-focused so they can move on more quickly. Success just means succeeding and triumph, one thing is reached. For example, for Malala, she strongly supported doing what she wanted to do and was very devoted and believed nothing was going to hold her down from achieving her goal of having a good education for everyone. Having faced many challenges, one in which involved her being shot, she recovered every time and got closer to her goal every time. Because of her action doing so, she earned the 2014 nobel peace prize, and was the youngest person to ever earn one. Through resilience, she managed to achieve success. Resilience and the ability to recover quickly helps one to succeed more easily.

Education and knowledge is necessary for one to be cognitive and thrive, while honor, courage, resilience, and success are results that occur from education and having knowledge. One can learn many things from being educated, and it is necessary for them to have enough knowledge so they can do well in life, in terms of economical, social, and personal. Courage is what helps one achieve their goals and reach success. They had to be risk-takers and overcome the obstacles they face. Resilience is also important for one to succeed. It helps one bounce back and continue on after falling down and not give up, just like perseverance. Success and honor is the result of being courageous and resilient. It is important to have all of the four important skills and things necessary for life, education, knowledge, courage, and resilience, and the two results, honor, and success.
