About American Trickster Tale

Trickster tales are a genre of story that involve characters tricking their opponents, and the trickster succeeding in the end. They have a clever character who plays tricks on the other person using their brain, and eventually defeats them. In a trickster tale, the characters have traits to make them win, and ones to make them lose. Two examples of trickster tales are “The Donkey and the Toad”, and “Doctor Rabbit, Bruh Fox and Tar Baby”. “The Donkey and the Toad” is a story that tells of how a donkey loses a race to a toad, who has all his family members, in a race because he was too overconfident. “Doctor Rabbit, Bruh Fox and Tar Baby” is a trickster tale in which a rabbit tricks a fox by howling, but a fox finds out and tricks him back by making a baby out of tar. Trickster tales have their own attributes which make them unique to other genres of stories.

Characters in trickster tales have their conflicts, and they can be both internal and external. A story usually has both major and minor conflicts. The minor conflict is normally the physical competition, while the major conflict is the competition between the mental and not physical traits of a character. In “The Donkey and the Toad”, the major conflicts are the fast versus slow, possessing confidence versus gaining confidence, and a team against an individual, while the minor conflict is the toad versus the donkey. In “Doctor Rabbit, Bruh Fox, and Tar Baby”, the major conflicts are greediness against honesty, and curiosity against a trap, while the minor conflicts are the rabbit vs fox. The fox and toad are the tricksters. Trickster tales have characters who have conflicts. They are against another character whom they are opposed to. A trickster tale has a competition between who has the better mental, physical, and rational strength, and also one in general for who is better. Characters have their own conflicts in the story. In a trickster tale, there are minor and major conflicts for the competition of the characters in the story.

Characters in a trickster tale have their own strengths and weaknesses, and that causes the better character to win. A character always has good traits that enable them to win, and also bad ones that make them fail. Between the strengths and weaknesses, the characters would need to see who is better. In “The Donkey and the Toad”, the donkey has the strengths of being fast and having a good reputation, and a weakness of being overconfident and individual. The toad has strengths of having a team, being clever, and having a will to win, and the weaknesses are that he is slow. In “Doctor Rabbit, Bruh Fox and Tar Baby”, the rabbit is good because he can make sounds, he is quick, and is a good liar, while his weaknesses are that he is too curious and has anger issues. The fox is powerful because he is clever, and has revenge, while his weaknesses are that he is easily frightened and fooled, and also does the things that people do not want him to do. Characters will always have things they are good at, and things that they are bad at. The good things will help them prevail to be a successful person, while the weaknesses can drag them down and make them not as successful. The strengths and weaknesses of characters can show the winner when they go up against each other, and the trickster will usually win, since he or she will use his or her brain, and mentally defeat his or her opponent using their mental power. The strengths and weaknesses of characters can determine the winner of a match.

Tricksters use their brains to win the match against their opponent, but have strategies and tips for themselves to win. If tricksters did not use their brain, they would not be considered tricksters. Tricksters are also people who think of ways to beat their opponent. They discover ways that could potentially help them. In “The Donkey and the Toad”, the toad is the trickster. The strategies he uses are to be smart, to have family support, and to never give up, meaning that he should have a will to win. In “Doctor Rabbit, Bruh Fox, and Tar Baby”, Fox is the trickster. Some strategies he uses are to know his opponent, to be smart, and to think out of the box. People who want to win should think of other ways to win, not just follow the traditional ways. If everybody uses the traditional way, it would not help, and would be useless. Being smart and using the brain is a way that all tricksters must use, since a trickster who does not think wisely would not be called a trickster. Knowing the opponent and having a team can also help somebody succeed, since it can give extra preparation and also more support, which will help. Some tricksters have good reasons to play tricks, while others might just want to steal or cheat. The trickster will usually want to win, but he or she can switch positions with the opponent sometimes. A trickster has ways to know how to win, and how to secure the win successfully.

Trickster tales are a genre of literature that show great knowledge and brain power. They show the conflicts of the characters, the strengths and weaknesses of them, and also how to win something. They are an interesting genre in which themes are executed through actions, and the character’s strengths, weaknesses, and attributes are shown through their thinking and the result of the match. A trickster tale involves cleverness, and a lot of thinking in it, since a weaker opponent always needs to find a way to defeat the supposedly stronger opponent. A trickster tale is a genre of story that involves cleverness and tricking a strong opponent by a weaker opponent who uses his or her own brain.
